NEW YORK PARENTS EATS & DRINKS IN JANUARY: baby friendly

THE             BRASS           MONKEY

Parents: Since opening its doors to the Meat-Packing in the summer of 2004, Brass Monkey has fast become a favorite both to neighborhood regulars and weekend revelers alike. Most claim it, but this truly is a bar for everyone! While it’s open brick and rich wood interior are fitting to this, most exclusive of neighborhood's, they pride themselves on offering a friendly, warm and relaxing place to enjoy a beer and a burger, take in a sports game or just hang out with friends. Brass Monkey boasts one of the most extensive beer lists in the city with over 75 imported beers. Couple that with their homely, Celtic-inspired fare of mussels, crab-cakes, Irish sausages and mash and their renowned home-made burgers to name but a few, and you’re onto a winner.

Kids: This two level bar has live music and teems with local neighborhood families, cool chilled out parents and a very accommodating view of children. The owners have two children who make frequent appearances. They also have friends and neighbors that pop in for a bite. While we were there on the second floor a 5 year old boy hosted his birthday party. The parents and kids got to hang out in a relaxed environment.
