With a reputation for delicious home made pies, tap beers, local celebs and a low key child friendly atmosphere BUBBYS in Tribeca (and Brooklyn) is a must head to haven for hungry parents.
In a neighborhood that has long experienced the over reach of luxury gentrification this oasis of culinary charm remains an authentic unpretentious eatery. Yes there are high chairs, booths (good for discreet breast feeding), crayons and paper, helpful staff, and baby changing stations.
On the menu you'll find home made chicken soup, chicken fingers, hand cut fries creamy omelette's and fluffy pancakes. The milk shakes are pure heaven if mom needs a pick up although once delivered to a toddler things tend to ramp up. The service is quick so be prepared to eat fast. There's also a good range of yummy salads and burgers. Strollers have to be folded outside during winter months in the summer you can sit outside and watch downtown life and perhaps even Robert De Niro or Philip Seymour Hoffman stroll by.
Prices are affordable by Tribeca standards and no mess is too big to clean up by accommodating bus boys. Nearby are local boutique baby stores (on Hudson and Greenwich) and heading to the river you'll find a great new park and stunning views (statue of liberty). Tribeca as a zip code boasts a high concentration of children per household so you'll be in the neighborhood dominated by double strollers and sympathetic parents.
