You and your child will be singing songs, dancing and playing games with three musicians. Rock-a-Baby explores music styles from rock to pop to classical. Rhythm, melody and harmony are some of the themes that will be explored over the ten class period.

Ages: Birth to four years, plus classes for big kids in later years
Music Together started as educational project at the Center for Music and Young Children. They set out to create a program that brought music to little ones starting at birth, as they believe that early exposure to music and movement is the ideal, for music development as well as brain development. In class you will dance and sing and play instruments and explore music together in an engaging and fun atmosphere. They provide activities and materials that you can use at home.

Kids at Work Jam Sessions classes bring a low key, relaxed approach that encourages improvisation and playfulness. Musical activities are centered around musical fun, and designed to be good for your baby's brain. They have a flexible drop-in policy, which is a big perk for parents with busy schedules. Currently the 0-13 month classes are running, but the toddler session for children 14-36 months is off for the fall of 2011.

At MoonSoup, all of the baby and toddler classes include music as part of the program. Some classes are more percussion, others have live guitar or keyboard. It’s a good mix. MoonSoup has a very relaxed vibe and you can tell that all the moms, dads and sitters are having as much fun and feel as comfortable and relaxed as the kids. MoonSoup is a real community place. The staff also encourage parents to get to know each other and go out of their way to break the ice between moms that they think will get along. The teachers and Director are really there for the parents and are happy to discuss developmental issues, share techniques and will happily switch you to another class when baby decides that class time is now her nap time.
