Casa Kids designs and manufactures children’s furniture and custom rooms. Our expertise lies in loft and bunk beds, desks, storage units and custom solutions for small spaces. All of our furniture is designed and built in our wood shop in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood.
How much do you charge for consultations?
We charge $300 in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We go to our clients’ homes, take measurements and photographs, discuss their specific needs and, ideally, meet with the kids too. Later in our studio, we draw up a scaled floor plan and sketches to illustrate the proposal. We also produce a detailed cost estimate. The consultation fee is credited towards any purchase of $7,000 or more made within six months of the consultation.
How long does it take to build a custom loft bed?
Typically, the lead times are between six and eight weeks for a single item like a loft bed and eight to twelve weeks for a full room.
Do you install?
Yes, we install the furniture with our own crew. We are insured and forward the appropriate certificates to the building prior to installation when required.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, our showroom is located at 106 Ferris Street in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood, on the waterfront and very close to Fairway. It's easier to drive or take a car service to this area since there is not a subway stop nearby. The closest stop is Smith-9th Street on the F train. From there, you can take the B61 bus to the last stop - about a fifteen minute ride.
What are your showroom hours?
We are here Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. but it is always best to email or call for an appointment ahead of time.
What guarantee do you give on your furniture?
We guarantee our work for fifteen years. We have been doing the same type of furniture, with the same materials for more than twenty years, so we have had the chance to see how strong our furniture is and how well it ages. We are also in the process of setting up a "used" section on our website for clients who want to re-sell their furniture once their kids grow out of it.
Why do you design children's furniture?
Children’s furniture is what gives us the most creative freedom. We can design exactly what we like and what we consider to be good for children. It can be absolutely simple but still have personality. We never follow trends or styles. Our work is always the genuine result of making good furniture, furniture that will last.
