MAD Family Day offers countless opportunities for children to create learn and explore! Artist educators and docents will be in the galleries to provide additional insights into the exhibitions and featured works sure to engage both children and their adult companions.
Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday by enjoying some of his stories.
In response to the Helsinki School artists’ approach to photography, kids will focus on new ways of looking at familiar subjects such as portraits and cityscapes using a variety of materials and tools like graphite, cameras, and scissors.
Celebrate the community with Mil's Trills in an interactive concert of quirky original tunes led by Amelia Robinson on her electric ukulele and her troupe of musical guests!
In this two-hour workshop you will make pizza to enjoy before taking out the sweet stuff. Have fun with the Baking Coach and learn how to create cupcakes to look like snow globes, using cookies, chocolate, candy, sprinkles and of course fondant icing! Ages 5+.
SUNDAY MARCH 3
Doll Festival (Hinamatsuri) in Japan is a time to wish for the health and future happiness of young girls. Enjoy songs, taste festival-related snacks and drinks and help decorate ceremonial dolls (hina-ningyo)! Children and families will create a variety of hina dolls to take home. (Boys are also welcome to participate.) Ages 3-10.
18…17…16… Can you bake that matzah before the dough rises? The annual Model Matzah Factory is back! Join in as they cut, thresh, and grind wheat into flour. Race against the clock as you mix, punch, roll and bake your very own matzahs to take home.
It’s almost Spring – what will we do to prepare? Take out our lighter, cooler clothes! But what do animals do to get ready for the warmer weather? Join in to find out! Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit: A Book of Changing Seasons by Il Sung Na.

Join The Rockdoves as they perform “cool music for kids made with parents in mind” from their debut album, “From The Birds,” touching on everything from urban living and nature, to the value of friendship, family, and home. Drawing inspiration from folk to the blues to rock ‘n roll, they offer an exciting, interactive live performance that delights audiences with its blend of education, comedy, and storytelling. All ages.

Holiday Express puts magnificent model trains, train stations and sheds, bridges and tunnels, carousels and Ferris wheels—all populated with toy figurines in colorful nineteenth-century dress—on display at the New-York Historical Society! But you can discover more than meets the eye! Spot the intricate details in these amazing model train scenes made by the Märklin model train company.
Help cook-up some fun! Grab tickets to hands-on cooking classes in the James Beard Foundation Future Foodies Pavilion, and enjoy free live musical performances, fitness workshops, entertainment and cooking demonstrations on the Kids Food Festival stage. Free admission with some paid-for events.
