Latin Jazz fuses intoxicating Afro-Caribbean and Pan-American rhythms with the elevated harmonic structure and instrumental virtuosity of jazz. Drummer, percussionist, and educator Bobby Sanabria will lead his Multiverse Big Band in introducing families to the idiom’s concepts and historical timeline.

Imagine going for a stroll through Chinatown – what would you see, smell, and hear? Share your favorite things about Chinatown and Gung hay fat choy! That means “Happy New Year!” in Chinese. Chinatown by William Low. Ages 4-7.
A Sunday matinee movie series at 11 a.m. Tickets $7
David Weinstone and The Music for Aardvarks Band will perform two concerts for kids. Families will hear favorite songs that celebrate being a kid in New York City.
Peek at technique and learn - through handling tools and materials - how works of art were created. Each afternoon program is divided into thirty-minute sessions, between 1pm and 4pm.
The museum offers free Family Drop-in Art Workshops as a means to develop art skills through a variety of materials and themes. Targeting children ages 5-12 and their adult companions, this program offers fun and educational activities to fuel conversations about art on view.

When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring fancy flair to her role?
