Baby Gutterman by Kathleen Fitzgerald
By Lainie Gutterman,
As a new mom in NYC, there is so much to do, particularly in the summer when the weather is sunny and warm. Enjoy the beautiful weather and people watch at a park or outdoor area with seating. Expose your baby to culture and bring your little one to a concert in the park and/or stroller tour at The Whitney.
Get some exercise and take a walk for Ralph's Ices, the Del's frozen lemonade truck (you can learn his destination at @delsnyc), a lobster roll at @redhooklobster or whatever NYC treat is your favorite, ranging from cupcakes and frozen yogurts cold pressed juices and coffees. Or work up a sweat at Strollercize.
Attend a fabulyss DivaMoms or The Moms/Mamarazzi event. Sign up for a support group or new parents get together at the 92nd St Y or JCC. I recommend waiting taking classes until your baby is sitting up. Cool off and catch the latest new flicks at a Baby Matinee.
Libraries offer weekly baby storytime. With my firstborn, I met a close friend the first time I attended one.
NYC mom? What does your baby do in the City?
